In my opinion, Green Industrialists must establish a Formal Lobby a Green-Bureaucracy-System in order to represent Green Industrial Production Technology Systems which will enable a green revitalization and clean up of traditional Industrial Complex, to include: Green International Standards Commission-Council, Green International Quality Commission-Council, Regional, National and International Green Chambers of Commerce, Clearing House for the positioning of Engineering Talent, Inventions, Patents and Products, Green Programs currently in progress, a Green Inventors Bureau, and Green Associations.

Sincerely,
Ross McClelland

College & University Presidents Climate Commitment

President Machen was first to sign

The American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment is a high-visibility effort to make campuses more sustainable and address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to reduce and ultimately neutralize greenhouse gas emissions on campus. The effort is modeled after the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement.

Building on the growing momentum for leadership and action on climate change, the Presidents Climate Commitment provides a framework and support for America's colleges and universities to go climate neutral. It recognizes the unique role of presidents and chancellors in providing leadership and guidance in their institutions and to society. Presidents joining the Climate Commitment effort understand that taking a leadership position will improve their institution's position in the competition for research funding and for the best students, faculty, and staff.

The initiative seeks the commitment of at least 200 presidents and chancellors by June 2007 and over 1,000 by December 2009.

The Presidents Climate Commitment is being coordinated and supported by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), Second Nature, and ecoAmerica, working closely with the Leadership Circle of presidents and chancellors (see below).

Review the commitment HERE.

Getting Ahead of the Curve: Corporate Strategies That Address Climate Change

Prepared for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change
October 2006

By:
Andrew J. Hoffman, The University of Michigan

This report serves as a "how to" guide for corporate decision makers as they navigate rapidly-changing global markets. The report presents an in-depth look at the development and implementation of corporate strategies that take into account climate-related risks and opportunities.

The report is comprised of two main sections:

1. The Synthesis Report lays out a step-by-step approach for incorporating climate change into corporate strategies and is based on results from a 100-question survey completed by 31 companies, six in-depth case studies, outside literature on corporate strategy, and input from the Pew Center's Business Environmental Leadership Council (BELC).

2. The Case Studies section features an in-depth look at the strategy-making process of these six companies:

Cinergy (now Duke Energy)
Swiss Re
DuPont
Alcoa
The Shell Group
Whirlpool Corporation
